"Booneville Standard" Dec. 26, 1878 - "Ephraim Hale, at his home in Grass Twp. Friday morning last at 2 am. Adged 83 years. Mr. Hale was one of the oldest residents of Spencer County and has always been esteemed highly, by all who knew him. (Rockport Journal)"

"Booneville Enquirer" Aug 1, 1885 - "William J. Hale, brother of detective Hale, both of Rockport, committed suicide there Wednesday afternoon."

"Booneville Standard" Friday, Sept 7, 1894 - " Selvin - Mr. CC Posey, has sold part of his farm, known as the Isham Hale farm to Elijah McCoy for $1300, and Mr. Posey says he has sold wheat for $1.00 per bushel, but gets only .48 cents cash."

"Booneville Standard" Fri. Aug 31, 1894 - "Levi Hale, (Jr) formerly of Warrick County, died Aug 20th, in Spencer County, aged 77 years."
